Hey everyone

So, we are currently working on allowing users to invite friends from their homepage via email. Give us a couple days then you can invite all the friends you want!

We will update everyone when this feature is ready!

Why Necter?

People ask us all the time, Why Necter? What makes you a viable Facebook Alternative?

We're adding items to this list all the time, but so far these are our main points:

- Profile Themes - Preset profile themes, pick your poison!
- Customizable "About Me" - Youtube videos, images, and some other basic BBCode.  But not too customizable; no CSS or HTML is allowed, so you won't see crazy profiles like MySpace used to have.
- All profiles private by default - No information can be seen but your name and default photo, unless you are friends.
- Separated text/media updates - Pay attention to what you're interested in at the time
- Friends Activity - Listening to music, watching movies, reading a book, playing a game, etc
- Priority Friends - Put your most-talked-to friend in this private list.
- Images display on comments - Have yourself some 4chan-style image battles!
- Realtime comments and notifications

Site Updates

Necter email notifications have been updated. All main functions of the site will notify who you are talking to. We've worked out lots of the most annoying bugs this week; thanks to everyone for letting us know!

Also, our timezone issues have been fixed. You can set your timezone in your Settings. By default, you are set to California - Los Angeles time.

Custom URL's have also been updated.  You can set your custom URL (necter.me/yourname) in your Profile Settings. Enjoy!
